Case against trio for transporting cattle

The Cuncolim police has registered a case against 3 persons under the provisions of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 and under the provision of the Goa Daman and Diu Prevention of cow slaughter Act, 1978, for transporting cattle.

Cuncolim police station in-charge, PI Tukaram Chawan informed that three persons from Verna and  Raia with their common intention were allegedly found illegally transporting a cow and baby calf in the carriage of the vehicle, owned by one of the accused allegedly for the purpose of slaughtering.

He said the trio have violated rules of transport of cattle's and also subjecting the cow and baby calf to cruelty.
