National Health Volunteers’ Campaign, a party program by the BJP was launched formally in Panaji on Saturday at the hands of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in the presence of BJP Central Observer Vinod Sonkar along with other party officials. The function organized at the BJP headquarters was attended by BJP State president Sadanand Shet Tanavade, Dr Shekhar Salkar, in-charge of national health volunteers’ campaign Goa, co-incharge Dr Sneha Bhagwat, coordinator Siddharth Kuncolienkar and others.
“The unit will be very helpful to the people of Goa in case the third wave hits the State,” said Pramod Sawant, congratulating the State unit for a successful district training session and assuring the Central Observer of taking the local unit to its logical end. Vinod Sonkar, on the other hand expressed his happiness over the way district training sessions was conducted and hoped that same enthusiasm will continue till the last BJP booth worker is trained. Sadanand Shet Tanavade welcomed the gathering and extended his party’s support to this campaign. The event was attended by 25 allopathic doctors, consultants, AYUSH doctors as well as party workers. The Mandal level workshop will be held on August 15 from 2-7 pm at Panaji.
Dr Shekhar Salkar spoke on the concept of health volunteering and shared general information about Corona virus and Covid appropriate behaviour. Dr Sneha Bhagwat highlighted the role of diet and yoga in boosting immunity as a preventive measure of Covid. Senior pediatrician Dr Harshad Kamat lectured on the first aid remedies and offered tips to prevent the third wave with special reference to children. Siddharth Kunkolienkar spoke on the role of information technology in the campaign. Sonkar elaborated on the organizational support to the campaign. The event was compered by Sharmad Raiturkar.
