CM reviews works of corporations

PANAJI 

The Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday along with Minister for Tourism Manohar Ajgaonkar chaired two review meetings of Goa Tourism Development Corporation and Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd and also attended meeting with the members of TTAG as a part of periodic review of all Goa corporations.

The CM appreciated the services carried out by KTCL during Covid - movement of health workers and patients and relatives by maintaining social distancing. The CM noted that KTC was running at 50% capacity and exhorted the Corporation to try newer projects to increase revenue.

Later, chairing a meeting with the stakeholders of GTDC the Chief Minister said tourism is the mainstay of Goa’s economy and the work of GTDC was of particular interest. CM noted the vast reach of tourism related activities. 

The concept of an embedded app for mobiles was given particular emphasis. Dy CM Manohar (Babu) Azgaonkar maintained that considerable efforts had been put in by the Government to attract more and more domestic tourists to Goa post-Covid, which were challenging but was the need of the hour.

Thereafter the Chief Minister also chaired a meeting with TTAG with Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar and with President of TTAG Nilesh Shah and other stakeholders. Secretary for Tourism J. Ashok Kumar IAS, Director Tourism Menino Vaz and others were also present. 

The meeting  discussed various demands of TTAG pertaining to  concession in statutory fees, sanitation charges, concession in GST, visa fee Waiver, etc. The Chief Minister assured to address the problems and resolve the same.

Chairman GTDC Dayanand Sopte, President  TTAG, Nilesh Shah, Chief Secretary  Parimal Rai IAS, Secretary Tourism J. Ashok Kumar IAS, Director Dept of Tourism, Menino Vaz, MD GTDC, Nikhil Desai were among those present at the meeting.
