A 56-year-old coconut plucker from Kolhapur but residing at Baga died after falling off a coconut tree in Saligao on Saturday afternoon.
According to reports, Balu Kumbhar had climbed up a coconut tree to pluck coconuts when he lost his balance and fell to the ground. He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the District Hospital in Mapusa, where he was declared dead on arrival.
After receiving information about the incident, Saligao police registered a case of unnatural death and sent the body for an autopsy at the GMC hospital. Further investigation is being conducted by PSI David Costa under the guidance of Police Inspector Somnath Majik.
