Colva Police seize ganja worth over Rs 3 lakh

The Colva Police have nabbed a resident of Navelim and recovered from his possession a flowery-like substance suspected to be ganja, worth over Rs three lakh.

District Police Chief, SP Sunita Sawant, told the media that the accused, Vinayak Chawan, was caught red-handed on an internal road at Vanelim-Colva while allegedly in possession of the flowery-like substance suspected to be ganja, weighing 3.082 kilograms, worth approximately Rs 3,08,200.

The accused has been remanded to seven days in police custody. Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Manju Vantamuri of the Colva Police Station.
