Goa Pradesh Youth Congress President Varad Mardolkar said he was confident that the Congress would prefer loyal workers for party tickets at the upcoming assembly elections.
"Congress party has been away from governance in the State for two terms and loyal workers are giving it their best. The party has not announced a single candidate, so don't believe those who announce or project themselves as candidates," said Mardolkar, while speaking to reporters in Mapusa.
“It will be me request to party leaders to consider loyal workers for candidates and I am confident that Congress will take note of these sentiments.”
Asked to comment on reports that Waste Management Minister Michael Lobo was likely to join the Congress, Mardolkar said: "There has been no official talk about it with party officials and so, I cannot comment on that."
Archit Naik, Saish Aroskar, Himanshu Tivrekar and Roshan Chodankar were among those present at the news conference.
