Consumers warned over Aadhaar linking of LPG connections

GOACAN has informed LPG consumers all over Goa that nobody can force any consumer to link the Aadhaar Card to their LPG connection as there is no subsidy involved in the price that the consumer is paying.

GOACAN coordinator Roland Martins has warned all LPG dealers of Bharat Gas, HP Gas & Indane that they will face action under the Consumer Protection Act 2019 if they try to promote this linking as "compulsory" or hold Camps to entice LPG consumers to link their Aadhaar Cards.

"There is no notification of any Government authority that makes Aadhaar Card linkage as compulsory,” he added.

LPG Consumers being forced to link their Aadhaar Card may complain to The Consumer Cell,  Department of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (DCSCA), Junta House, Panaji 403001 on email [email protected] and send a copy of the complaint to [email protected].
