A state of confusion has gripped gas consumers in Sattari taluka over the past fifteen days, with widespread complaints about delays in cylinder distribution and technical glitches in the delivery process.

According to local residents, gas cylinders are not being supplied on time despite advance bookings, leading to growing public frustration. Citizens have urged the Valpoi Civil Supplies Department to intervene immediately and resolve the issue.

Reports indicate that West Asia war conditions have contributed to gas shortages in several regions.

While authorities have assured uninterrupted supply, consumers in Sattari claim that deliveries have been delayed by up to fifteen days, disrupting the regular supply cycle.

A major concern highlighted by consumers is the newly introduced OTP (One-Time Password) system. Under the revised process, customers must provide an OTP received on their registered mobile number at the time of delivery.

However, many consumers report not receiving the OTP, making it difficult to collect their cylinders. Residents say the earlier system was simpler and more efficient, whereas the current process has created unnecessary complications.

The disruption has significantly affected daily life, with many households struggling to manage cooking due to the unavailability of gas refills.

Consumers allege a clear gap between official claims of adequate supply and the situation on the ground.

In Sattari taluka, gas is primarily distributed by two companies”Indane Gas through the Valpoi office and HP Gas from Sanquelim. Consumers claim that most of the current issues are linked to the HP Gas distribution service, which they say is plagued by mismanagement.

Residents have appealed to the Civil Supplies Department to step in, streamline the process, and restore regular supply. They warn that failure to address the issue promptly could lead to further inconvenience in the coming days.
