The Captain of Ports has notified closure of the channel around the Aguada Sand Bar for navigation from May 21 for all inland traffic vessels during the 'foul season'.
In Goa, the period of foul season is from May 21 to September 15 as per the Inland Vessels Rules.
Closure of the Aguada Sand Bar channel is an annual affair and notified each year by the CoP.
Meanwhile, the CoP has also notified the ceasing of functioning of the Lighthouses at Malim, Campal, Tejo Front and Tejo Rear, Reis Magos and Aguada Beacon from June 1 until further notice.
