MAPUSA
The entire Panjikar family from Corjuem-Aldona, who were tested positive for Covid-19, exercised their franchise wearing the mandatory PPE kits at the allotted time on Saturday evening.

Congress General Secretary and spokesman Amarnath Panjikar along with his wife, daughter, brother, sister-in-law and his niece cast their vote at a polling booth at Cuxem, in Corjuem, Aldona.

The local block level officer (BLO) had provided the PPE kits to the family one day before the election.

“I am extremely thankful to the State Election Commissioner for allowing us to exercise our constitutional rights. If the SEC had not decided to allow Covid positive patients to vote, we would not be able to vote. My entire family is happy we could cast our vote,” Panjikar said.

The Panjikar family was tested positive for Covid one week ago.
