Residents of Curtorim, led by Curtorim Zilla Panchayat member Michelle Rebello, called on the PWD Executive Engineer, Roads, Savio Gomes, with a plea to restore the damaged road near the Curtorim lake.
The delegation drew the attention of the PWD Engineer to the number of accidents that have taken place on the road after the collapse of a portion of the road. They feared that the remaining portion will also collapse if no timely action is taken by the PWD department.
Congress leader Moreno Rebello has warned the PWD engineer that residents of Curtorim will be left with no option but to stage a protest on the road if action is not forthcoming from the department. "People are facing hardships with the festive season underway. The village is celebrating the feast in the coming days. We want the road to be repaired and restored immediately," Moreno demanded.
