Custody assault case is under inquiry: CM

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has on Wednesday said that he has issued instructions to conduct a detailed inquiry into the Margao police custody assault on Navelim youth Edberg Pereira.
He also confirmed that police action has begun regarding the “Pakistan Zindabad” slogan reportedly displayed at a wholesale liquor store in North Goa.
Responding to media queries on the Margao custody case, the Chief Minister said he has called for an inquiry. On the slogan controversy, he added, “The police has already initiated action in the matter.”
On the illegal liquor business, the Chief Minister said the Excise Department and Goa Police are closely monitoring the illegal liquor business, saying the police and excise will neither allow outside liquor to enter the State nor liquor from the state to enter the neighbouring States.
