Dev Darshan Yatra Yojana kicks off with trip to Vailankanni

The Mukhyamantri Dev Darshan Yatra Yojana is back again for the benefit of senior citizens, with the government announcing four pilgrimages in the month of January and February to Vailankanni and Ayodhya.

While the trip to Vailankanni is scheduled on January 9, trips have been planned to Ayodhya on January 19, 26 and on February 2.

The Mukhyamantri Dev Darshan Yatra Yojana, a state scheme of Directorate of Social Welfare, envisages to provide one time travel assistance on pilgrimage in a life time to senior citizens to visit sacred holy places outside Goa as per the Itineraries decided by the Government of Goa from time to time. This year 2025-26, four trips were arranged with Goa Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. (GTDC) to visit Vailankanni & Ayodhya.

The pilgrims will  be sent under agency package as per MOU signed by the Government with agency appointed by Directorate of Social Welfare, Government of Goa from time to time. The pilgrimage will be conducted for a group of not less than 750 persons who wish to visit the holy places as per itineraries decided by the Government of Goa from time to time or as per carrying capacity of the train whichever is lower.

The age group to avail facility under the scheme of applicant/beneficiary should not be less than 50 years and should not be more than 70 years. One attendant shall be entitled to accompany the applicant free of cost.

The applicant shall be physically and mentally sound to perform the journey and shall not be suffering from any communicable diseases like T.B., Heart diseases, Leprosy, COVID etc. and shall submit a Self Medical Certificate/Self Declaration on Web Portal/App.

Self Declaration stating that the applicant has not availed benefits under the scheme earlier is alo required.

The applicant is required to apply online on the Web Portal/App developed by the Department/Agency appointed in this respect as per the requirement of the web portal/app www. yatra connect.in
