The Directorate of Education has issued show cause notice to the Chairman of Shree Shantadurga Higher Secondary School, Bicholim after eleven students from the school had to be hospitalized.

Director Education Shailesh Zingade has directed the school management to submit the detailed report of the incident within three days.

At least eleven girl students from a Higher Secondary School at Bicholim in North Goa were hospitalised after a group of fellow students sprayed a “pepper spray” on them.

In the notice, Zingade said that the occurrences of such incidents in any educational institution is detrimental not only for the students but for the educational system as well.

"You are hereby directed to show cause as to why action deemed fit should not be initiated against the management for failing to prevent such incidents in the school premises," the director said.
