A thief was nabbed in broad daylight by a Drishti lifesaver at Bogmalo beach, while an Iranian woman was rescued at Chapora river.

According to Drishti reports, a couple was strolling at Bogmalo beach when two men snatched the woman’s handbag and ran with it.

Drishti lifesaver Chandrashekhar Lamani who was patrolling the beach noticed the commotion when the couple called for help. The lifesaver spotted the thieves running with the bag and chased them.

Chandrashekhar caught up with one of the thieves, wrestled him to the ground and with the assistance of people pinned him down.

Meanwhile, a call was placed by the lifesaving team to the local police.

Chandrashekhar handed over the thief to the local police on their arrival and the bag was returned to its owner.

Later that evening, a 24-year-old woman from Iran went for a swim at the Chapora river and got pulled inward by a rip current.

Noticing the victim struggling for help, a nearby shack owner alerted Drishti lifesavers Sachin Naik and Suhas Gawas, who relayed a rescue call and immediately rushed to the victim’s rescue, bringing her ashore on a jetski.
