Curtains came down on the 425 years jubilee celebration of the St Thomas Church, Aldona with a solemn Eucharistic celebration.
The main celebrant for the holy mass was Fr Jose Remedios Fernandes, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman and the con-celebrants were the Parish Vicar Fr Tomas Lobo, Fr Michael Fernandes, Fr Jerard Sahayaraj MSFS and assisted Deacon Melito D’Costa.
After the holy mass, a souvenir was released at the hands of the Vicar General to commemorate the occasion of the 425 years. This was followed by the inauguration of the exhibition on St Thomas, the apostle and patron saint of Aldona Church. The exhibition was organized by the St Thomas Church Catechetical Cell, Aldona.
The Vicar General applauded the efforts put in by the Sunday school children supported and guided by their parents and Catechists.
The Parish Vicar Fr Tomas Lobo while thanking all those who put in their time, talents and sacrifices to make the dream of the exhibition possible, expressed his belief that this endeavour has undoubtedly helped deepen the faith of those involved as well as those who have been witness to the faith-event.
The one-day exhibition received an overwhelming response from the public. Mementoes of the 425 years of the St Thomas Church were on display sale during the exhibition.
