The Fatorda police have recovered the knife used by the three migrant workers in the Fatorda double murder case.
The kitchen knife, which was hidden by the accused in the bushes meters away from Minguel’s bungalow, has been recovered at the instance of accused Rabin Kumar.
Soon after the three accused persons were brought to Goa, the police set in motion further investigations in the case. Interrogations of the three accused revealed that it was Rabin who had allegedly stabbed MInguel before the other two took part in the operation to hammer him to death.
Fatorda Police station in-charge, PI Kapil Nayak informed that that a police team took accused Rabin to the spot on Wednesday evening and recovered the knife at the instance of the accused.
“The accused confessed that he had hidden the knife in the bushes just meters away from the bungalow after committing the double murder. Today, the accused led a police team to the spot where the knife was hidden in the bushes”, he added.
Incidentally, the police sniffer dog had headed towards this area when the police had pressed the dog squad into operation on Monday morning.
PI Kapil said that after hiding he knife in the bushes, the trio made good their escape on the Dio scooter owned by the deceased.
