Ferreira urges Goans to ‘throw out’ BJP over lawlessness

MAPUSA

Aldona Congress MLA Carlos Ferreira on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the ruling BJP government, accusing it of allowing law and order to collapse in Goa to facilitate corruption and commissions.

He urged the people to “throw the BJP government out of power” for allegedly protecting lawbreakers.

Reacting to the recent gunfire incident linked to illegal sand extraction in Pernem, Ferreira said such incidents reflected the government’s failure to maintain order.

“Gang wars outside police stations, shootouts over sand mining ” each time Goa finds a new low. Law and order has completely collapsed,” he said.

Ferreira questioned whether the police investigation would expose those behind the illegal operations.

“There could be a godfather who has not received his share of the spoils. But I can assure you, the mastermind’s name will be suppressed,” he remarked.
