United Boys Ambaulim edged past Guardian Angel SC 1“0 to book their place in the semifinals of the Curtorim Panchayat Cup 2025, organized by Maina Sports Club, at St. Alex Church Ground, Curtorim, on Wednesday.
In an entertaining encounter, both teams displayed attacking football from the outset. Ambaulim took an early lead in the 8th minute through Soweil Fernandes. Guardian Angel’s Frazer Gomes came close to equalizing, but his effort struck the post and went out of play. Ambaulim’s Alex Fernandes and Teron Fernandes also tested Guardian Angel goalkeeper Jackson Vaz, who pulled off some fine saves to keep his team in the contest.
After the break, Guardian Angel pressed hard for the equalizer, but Ambaulim’s defense stood firm to preserve their slender lead until the final whistle.
United Boys Ambaulim will now face USC Seraulim in the semifinals on November 3.
Jackson Vaz (Guardian Angel SC) was presented the Man of the Match award by Edwin Sequeira (Member, Maina SC).
