Goa Marine Impex Pvt Ltd has submitted before the High Court that the company has proposed to set up a Fish Meal and Fish Oil processing Plant at its property being Survey No.339/0 (part) and 340/1(part), behind the Cuncolim IDC at Cuncolim.
The company submitted that it has been engaged in business since last several years and involved in manufacture of food products, processing and preserving of fish, crustaceans and molluscs and products thereof.
The company stated that it is also involved in processing and canning of fish and related products and the company is also involved in fishing, operation of fish hatcheries and fish farms, and service activities incidental to fishing.
“It appears that the GSPCB has passed the Order with abetted enthusiasm and to benefit some other industrial unit in the Cuncolim IDC, already engaged in the production of fish meal. The company has all the NOCs from the various departments including the health NOC,” the petition stated.
