In a significant political development in Goa politics, former Cuncolim Municipal Council chairperson Shashank Desai joined Goa Trinamool Congress along with 400 of his supporters Sunday at a grand event held in Cuncolim.
The event was presided over by TMC leader Dr Jorson Fernandes and Aleixo Reginaldo.
Shashank Desai was also the former secretary of the Devsthan Committee and former councillor. He is also the former close aide of Joaquim Alemao. TMC welcomes the grassroots leaders to join the movement and usher in a new dawn in the state.

Goa TMC inaugurated a new party office today at Chinchinim in Velim constituency. The grand inauguration happened in the presence of Goa TMC leaders Advocate Antonio Clovis Da Costa and Dr Jorson Fernandes.
During the event, panchs from Chinchinim John Beda Pereira, Doura Fernandes and Reina Dias joined the party fold and promised to work for the people of Goa.
Advocate Clovis talked about the corruption done by both the BJP and the Congress and said, "Let all the years of misrule come to an end. This is the time for a change to ensure a better future for our children. Only if you think I'm good and capable, then come out in large numbers and support me."
