The Tourism Department and Mopa Airport Police Station have taken action against four persons for allegedly carrying out illegal activities and violating the Goa Registration of Tourist Trade Act, 1982.
A statement issued by the department states that an incident occurred at Manohar International Airport, Mopa, where these individuals “ all residents of Mapusa, Pernem, Quepem and Verla - were found carrying out illegal activities to detriment the smooth movement of tourist persons/passengers as well as causing inconvenience to the tourist visiting Goa.
“They were produced before the Department of Tourism for appropriate action,” it said, adding that the department continues to work proactively to uphold the standards of responsible and regulated tourism.
Tourists have been advised to engage only with registered service providers and to report any unauthorised activity to the nearest tourism or police authority.
