Children of freedom fighters have threatened a satyagraha if the government does not step in to shut down the bar opened inside the Aguada Fort.
Addressing the media, Avinash Shirodkar has expressed shock and surprise that a bar has been allowed to open inside the Aguada Fort. “The Aguada jail was to be renovated into a museum since it has a rich history, with many a freedom fighter, who had fought for Goa’s Liberation were incarcerated at the Aguada jail. It is indeed sad that a bar has been allowed inside the Aguada fort”, he said.
Shiodkar wondered how the government had allowed a bar to come up inside the historic Aguard Fort, demanding to know how the same had escaped the attention of the government.
He, however, exuded confidence that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte will intervene immediately and take steps to shut down the bar.
To a question, Shirodkar has warned that the children of freedom fighters along with the citizens of Goa will stage a satyagraha at the Aguada Fort till the bar is shut down.
