Goa University has invited online applications from those interested in starting new affiliated colleges or new programmes including starting research centres for the academic year 2025-26.
The last date for application is October 15; however, an extension with late fee charges is granted till April 30, 2025.
The varsity has also sought applications from the affiliated colleges for continuation and extension of affiliation and affiliations to start new divisions.
According to a notification, the varsity will charge Rs two lakh as fees to the new professional colleges while Rs one lakh for non-professional colleges and new community colleges.
The fees for continuation of permanent affiliation to grant-in-aid programmes will vary from Rs 40,000 (for programmes up to five) to Rs 60,000 (for up to ten programmes) to Rs 80,000 (for programmes above 10).
The university has said that any proposal for opening new colleges and starting a new programme including research centres and extension of affiliation for general and honours programmes would be first examined by the Standing Affiliation Inquiry Committee. “Such applications need to be submitted at least one year prior to the commencement of the academic year,” it said.
It further said that the proposals received either under grant-in-aid or self-financing, have to be accompanied by a No Objection Certificate from the Directorate of Higher Education or Directorate of Technical Education or Directorate of Health Services, based on the courses offered.
