Goa University slipped by 15 positions to be ranked 96th among the 100 best universities in India in the National Institutional Framework (NIRF) ranking released on Thursday.
The premier institution in the State managed to get an overall score of 38.96. It had ranked 81st in the year 2020, 93rd in 2019 and 68th in 2018.
In addition, National Institute of Technology, Goa ranked 85th among Engineering Institutes while Goa Institute of Management (GIM) bagged the 35th position in top 75 Management Institutes in the country.
The only other Goan college that could find a place in the prestigious ranking of Higher Educational institutions was Goa College of Pharmacy with an all India ranking of 56.
Incidentally, none of the institutions in Goa could find a place in the first 100 institutes in the country as per overall ranking.
The National Institutional Ranking Framework which lists top universities and colleges in India was released by the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday.
