PANAJI: The Goa Forward Party has proposed a list of comprehensive measures for the draft Agriculture Policy while slamming that the new policy lacks vision.
“The draft has outdated data; and it lacks vision, mission, objectives and a well-defined structure. It does not even have the analysis of Goa’s agriculture sector with respect to its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats,” GFP President Vijai Sardesai said, while addressing a press conference in the capital on Wednesday.
The former agriculture minister also alleged that the current draft fails to create a distinction between small and large farmers, neither does it have provisions to provide, enhance support prices or address the hazards of climate change.
