Dr Akshaya Pauskar (38) passed away while she was on duty at the Shiroda Primary Health Centre on Wednesday, shocking the medical fraternity and people across the State.
The body of Dr Pauskar, who hailed from Ponda, has been sent for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The State government had honoured late Dr Pauskar as a Covid warrior in recognition of her services at then Shiroda Covid Care Center.
Ponda DySP Nitesh Kankoncar is investigating the matter under the supervision of Ponda PI Tushar Lotlikar.
