Governor, CM extend New Year greetings

PANAJI

Governor of Goa, Bhagat Singh Koshyari has extended his heartiest greetings and best wishes to the people of Goa on the happy occasion of the New Year 2021.

The Governor in his message has said, every New Year is an important occasion for us to look into the past and contemplate the future. The year gone by has been a difficult one because of the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic and most of the year having been spent in fighting this deadly virus. However, with the admirable support and cooperation of the people, the Government has been able to successfully contain the infection and loss of lives. Every crisis also presents an opportunity and this was the time when new ideas such as ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Swayampurna Goa’ were born. Inspite of the adversities arising from the pandemic, Goa has done well by opening up the economy, providing for the welfare of the people and taking steps to promote tourism.

The Governor further adds, we look forward to the New Year with new hopes, expectations and aspirations. We eagerly await the production of a safe and effective vaccine that would defeat the Corona virus. Let us resolve that in the New Year Swayampurna Goa would be successfully implemented and there would be further improvement in the overall social and economic development of the State. May this New Year bring greater happiness, peace and prosperity to all Goans, Governor concludes.

Chief  Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has extended his best wishes to the people of Goa on the occasion of New Year 2021.
