The decision to hike annual casino fees by 10 per cent approved by the Pramod Sawant-led cabinet was on Wednesday notified by the Home department.
The notification also encompasses the relaxation granted to the casino companies which permits them to pay the fees in monthly installments instead of a one-time annual payment.
The notification states that with 10 % increase the recurring fees for onshore casinos vary between Rs 11 crore and Rs 44 crores. For the off-shore casions, the fees are in the range of Rs 27.5 crore to Rs 44 crore.
As many as six off-shore casinos are in operation in Goa.
"The Annual Recurring Fees for the financial year 2022-2023 shall be calculated on monthly pro rata basis and the payment thereof shall be made on or before the 5th day of the month commencing from April, 2022 till September, 2022," states the notification.
It also stipulates that the proportionate annual recurring fees for the second half of the last financial year, that is from October-March of 2021-22, is to be paid on or before September 30 this year.
