Even as repair and restoration of the Margao Urban Health centre building is dragging on till date, questions are raised whether the government has obtained the structural stability test report of the heritage building till date.
For, the health centre’s functioning will be shifted to the heritage structure after completion of the repairs and restoration work. The moot question, however, has come to haunt the stakeholders “ has the government carried out the structural stability test of the heritage building post-July 8, 2023?
The Goan understands that the PWD has not roped in any agency till date to conduct the structural stability test, with a senior official in private saying the Health department had taken up the responsibility to engage agencies to conduct the test.
“The PWD has not roped in either the Goa college of Engineering or any other agency to conduct the test. For, the Health officials were supposed to engage agencies to carry out the test”, the official added.
