High Court disposes of petition against marina

PANAJI

The Bombay High Court at Goa has disposed of the petition filed by Manoj Parab, Viresh Borkar and a group of villagers of Nauxim who had challenged the lease between Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) and Kargwal Constructions to set up a Marina at Nauxim.

The decision came after the MPA informed the High Court that it had terminated the lease deed and had accordingly informed the company of its decision.

“By keeping open all contentions of all parties, we dispose of this petition,” the High Court bench of Justices M S Sonak and R N Laddha ruled.

Earlier the Mormugao Port Authority informed the High Court that in its meeting held on 27.05.2022 has resolved to terminate the lease deed granted on 12.10.2010 and such termination was duly intimated to the promoters of the Marina.

Adv Carlos Alvares Ferreira who represented the petitioners said that the petition may be disposed of by keeping contentions open.
