Housie could be going dhirio way, as to how police tackle offence

Will Housie go the dhirio way, is a question being asked in local circles after the Verna police registered an offence against the alleged Housie organizers.

For, sources say the police could have scuttled the scheduled Housie in their jurisdiction armed with the district Collector’s order banning Housie, but they preferred to register an offence under the Public Gambling Act after the show.

Sources informed that the police had successfully adopted a similar modus operandi in dealing with the banned bull fights. “Hardly do we come across reports that the police have foiled bull fights. What we come to know through the media is that the police register offenses against the owners of the bulls involved in the bull fight. I think Housie will go the dhirio way”, sources said.
