Panaji: Ponda JMFC has extended the police custody of Pooja Naik by four days, with her interrogation into the fake job racket to continue.
Naik, facing about 6 FIRs for similar offences, was arrested by Mardol police on Sunday for allegedly duping a Ponda resident of Rs 14 lakh. She is accused of falsely promising government jobs..
Since her arrest, two additional FIRs have been registered against her.
In Porvorim, Priya Mandrekar reported being swindled of Rs 4 lakh by Naik and accomplices Ajit and Anisha Satarkar, who allegedly took the money under the guise of securing a government job.
Bicholim police registered another case on a similar complaint against Naik.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had recently stated that he directed the police to immediately arrest her after he learnt of a fresh case. He claimed that no bribe is to be paid for government jobs.
