Kerala native arrested in narcotics raid by Mandrem Police

Mandrem Police apprehended a Kerala native, identified as Muhammed Nihal, 29, residing in Mandrem, and originally hailing from Thalaseery, Kannur, Kerala, in a narcotics raid conducted on March 26.


The operation was initiated based on a tip-off received by SP North Akshat Kaushal, indicating the suspect's involvement in the sale of drugs, including charas and LSD papers, in the Mandrem area. Acting on the information, a raiding team was assembled under the supervision of SDPO Pernem Jivba Dalvi and PI Mandrem Sheriff Jacques.


Upon the suspect's arrival at the location, the raiding team apprehended the suspect. Following a thorough search, Nihal was found to have 2.63 grams of Charas and 123 LSD Papers in his possession. The confiscated narcotics are valued at approximately Rs. 14,36,000 in the international market.


An FIR has been registered against the accused under sections 20(b)(ii)(A) and 22 (c) of the NDPS Act.


The raiding team, led by SP North Akshat Kaushal and SDPO Pernem Jivba Dalvi, comprised officers including PSI Kunal Naik and constables Saish Pokle, Vijay Gaikwad, Rajesh Shirgaonkar, and Babaji Pednekar.


Further investigation is underway, as this marks the second significant raid conducted by Mandrem Police within three days.
