The Konkan Railway Corporation has come under fire for its miserably failure to put a system in place and to rein in the contractor and his fee collectors.
Even as citizens wondered how come the KRC has turned a blind eye to the allegations of overcharging taking place right in the railway property, KRC senior official Baban Ghatge said an official has been told to resolve the issues raised by the public.
Citizens, however, pointed out that it is the responsibility of the Konkan Railway to protect members of the public from the abusive language and assaults made by the fee collectors. “Finally, the fee collector is being engaged by the Konkan Railway and it is its responsibility to protect the citizens and mete out justice”, a citizen said, adding that the Konkan Railway officials cannot wash off its hands, more so when citizens have made allegations that contractor is involved in overcharging.
