The Margao police have registered an FIR against a lawyer on the allegation of stalking a girl and making unpleasant gestures, thereby outraging her modesty.
Margao Police Station in-charge, PI Tulsidas Naik, informed that the police have registered offences under sections 75 (2) (3), 78 (2), 79, and 329 (4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023.
He said the complainant alleged that the lawyer had been making sexual advances towards her, passing sexually coloured remarks, thereby causing sexual harassment.
She further complained that the accused had been attempting to contact her to foster personal interaction repeatedly despite a clear indication of disinterest.
Further alleging that the accused has been sending messages on her mobile phone, the police claimed the accused stalked the girl and outraged her modesty by allegedly making unpleasant gestures and criminally trespassing into her office to foster personal interaction. The police are investigating.
