Asserting that the advertisement appeal to register for pre-sale tickets is on the officially verified X handle of Sunburn Festival, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao on Sunday questioned whether Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will dare to register a FIR against the organisers for issuing advertisements without government of Goa approval or whether the Chief Minister is part of the match fixing.
“After converting North Goa into drug & crime hub, BJP government under Chief Minister Pramod Sawant & Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte are now setting their evil eye on South Goa. This is one more attempt of taking revenge of Lok Sabha defeat by allowing Sunburn Festival in South Goa in 2024," Yuri asserted.
He said it is clear that the BJP government is hypothecated to the Sunburn organisers, charging, “That is the reason, government has not taken any action on advertisment issued by Sunburn Festival to host the event in South Goa”.
Saying the BJP has finished Goan culture and heritage by promoting activities like Sunburn, Yuri said it is known to all that deaths of persons attending the Festival have taken place in the past, but government has always covered up the facts.
“Sunburn should not be given permission to host the event anywhere in Goa. We will not allow it in South Goa and will also oppose it in North Goa. This festival has done enough damage and now time has come to stop it permanently," stated Yuri.
