A 57-year-old man, who was at Curtorim Primary Health Centre for diabetes treatment, was discovered dead by hanging near a toilet in the building.
The man, admitted for diabetes care, was found hanging around 5 am on Monday. The police stated that after a post-mortem examination, the body was handed over to the relatives.
Maina Curtorim police station in-charge, PI Arun Desai, stated that the deceased had been in the PHC for about two days. "There's no foul play suspected. It seems the man took his own life, possibly after learning about the need for a leg amputation due to diabetes," PI Arun shared. The police are currently investigating the matter.
