PANAJI: The Cyber Crime Cell of Goa Police has arrested a man for allegedly creating a fake social media account of a woman and posting obscene material and material containing sexually explicit acts.
The victim, in her complaint to the police, alleged that the unknown accused created a fake Instagram account using her picture and thereafter sent the complainant obscene material containing sexually explicit acts in electronic form."Upon investigation, it was ascertained that the accused person is working in the same company where the complainant/victim is employed. He developed a liking for her and being one-sided love, the accused person created her fake Instagram ID and started sending her obscene and sexually explicit material," SP Nidhin Valsan said.
The man is identified as Subhash Mhapsekar, aged 29 years, and booked on charges of committing identity theft of the complainant and transmitting obscene material and material containing the sexually explicit act, using computer/electronics resources and other relevant sections of the law.
