The pressure of performing well in studies on an 18-year-old boy led to his death as he committed suicide in his Mapusa home, while his parents were away at work, a senior police official said.
The deceased was a class 12 student and was preparing to appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).
“Our investigation revealed the deceased student was under pressure to perform well and excel in exams,” a police official informed.
Police informed that the deceased left back a handwritten note which said that his parents should not be blamed for the incident.
