Calangute Police have arrested a bus driver in connection with a fatal road accident that claimed the life of a young motorcyclist.
The incident occurred on the morning of February 1 at around 8 am at Sai Baba Parking, Umtawaddo, Calangute.
According to police reports, Pramod Yeshwant Kandolkar (51), a resident of Socorro, Porvorim drove his bus in a rash and negligent manner.
The reckless driving resulted in a collision with an oncoming Yamaha MT-15 motorcycle, ridden by Dhurabajyot Sureshwar (23).
Dhurabajyot, a resident of Candolim but originally from Bangalore North, sustained severe injuries in the crash and tragically succumbed to them. Following the accident, the police launched an investigation and arrested the accused driver, Pramod Kandolkar.
A case has been registered under Sections 281 and 106 of the BNS.
