Madganvcho Awaaz Convenor Prabhav Naik has underscored the need to make the hospital fully functional with proper infrastructure, qualified staff, and essential services that can benefit the citizens.
He said, "Immediately after Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that the ESI hospital has been selected by the Union government for the setting up of a government medical college, Madganvcho Awaaz immediately reminded the government that this was a long-pending commitment dating back to 2009. we raised the issue publicly and made it clear that ESI Hospital must not remain a symbolic or underutilized institution”.
Reminding the government that this was a long-pending commitment dating back to 2009, Naik said “The people of Margao have waited far too long for this promise to be fulfilled”.
