No let-up: 7 more die of Covid, 309 new infections recorded

Death toll @ 538, all deceased are aged between 50 and 70 years

Seven more people succumbed to Covid-19 in Goa taking the Covid death toll to 538. However, two of the deceased were patients from Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra who were receiving treatment at Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim.

All the deceased are in the age bracket of 50 to 67 years.

The deceased persons include a 50-year-old man from Porvorim, a 55-year-old woman from Ponda, a 65-year-old man from Uccasaim, a 67-year-old man from Candolim, a 67- year-old woman from Canacona and two patients from Sindhudurg, Maharashtra, a man aged 67 years and a woman aged 50 years.

Of these, six deaths were recorded at GMC and one at ESI Covid Hospital in Margao.

Meanwhile, with the inclusion of 309 new cases of the infection being detected in the State, the active tally in Goa presently stands at 3,827 while the total confirmed cases have touched 40,400 of whom 36,035 have recovered.
