No probe into legality of rooms inside Cuncolim industrial units

Is there any authority investigating into the pertinent question whether the UP worker, who had died in the ammonia gas leakage, was staying in legally constructed rooms in the adjoining industrial unit?

This question has come to the fore as people have been demanding to know whether the rooms put up in the adjoining industrial unit were legally sanctioned to accommodate workers employed in the unit.

The 22-year old deceased worker from UP was sleeping in one of the rooms in the adjoining industrial unit after gas leakage from Quality Foods claimed his life. This has thrown up a question whether any agency, including the office of Labour Commissioner, IDC or the police, have investigated into the legality of the rooms.

Cuncolkars have demanded in one voice for a detailed probe into the presence of illegal rooms constructed by many units inside their premises to accommodate the migrant labourers.
