No substitute for our religious, cultural rites: Vidyadhish Swami

It is the long-term interest of the society to bring up our children according to the teachings of religion and customs, Gokarna Partagali Jivottam Mathadhish Shri Vidyadhishtirtha Swamiji preached in a grand meeting at Porvorim.

During this week, Swamiji's stay was at the Math branch in Porvorim. This meeting was organized on the same occasion.  

Goa Tourism Minister and Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte, former Chief Minister and Margao MLA Digambar Kamat, former Union Minister  Suresh Prabhu, Branch Math President Dr Rajan Kunkalienkar and devotees from Tiswadi and Bardez talukas were present in large numbers.

"Nowadays, our young men and women live in other states or live in foreign countries for the sake of education or employment.  But they should always remain connected with their homeland and society. a proper upbringing in tune with our religious and cultural ethos will keep them rooted in this land," Swamiji asserted. 

During Swamiji's stay, various religious and cultural programmes were organized at Porvorim Jeevotam Math.  Rituals like Durga Namaskar Puja, Vishnu Havan, Laksha Tulsi Archana, Laksha Kunkumarchan and Mudra Dharana were also performed during this week. 

Satyanarayan Puja has been organized in the Mutt on January 26. Swamiji will proceed towards their next stay from Porvorim in the evening.
