The OBC leaders from Goa, Karnataka and Telangana have jointly demanded that 2025 census should be conducted on caste basis.
OBC national leaders V. Shrinivas Gaud (Telangana), BJP ex-MP Waman Jadhav (Karnataka) and Balaraj Guttevar RJD leader (Karnataka) were in Goa to discuss the problems of OBCs in Goa. The meeting which was organised by OBC mahasangh, Goa branch was attended by representatives all 19 OBC communities in Goa. The issue of PG admission in GMC was discussed at length.
The government has not yet decided to accept the recommendation of SC commission to follow roster system while doing admission. Shrinivas Gaud, former Telangana minister promised that Telugu Desam Party MPs will raise the issue of GMC admission if roster system is not followied by GMC. It was also decided to start national level campaign for caste based census.
