Odisha mason electrocuted in Vasco

A 28-year-old mason from Odisha died of electrocution at the fish market building under construction at Vasco on Monday.

Vasco police received information from Chicalim Sub District Hospital that Umasankar Katta was brought dead to the hospital.

"Accordingly, PSI Mayur Sawant conducted the inquest panchanama and the body was shifted to South Goa Hospital for an autopsy.

Vasco police enquired with eyewitnesses and family members, and it was revealed that the deceased got electrocuted at his workplace at the fish market building under construction at Vasco. Vasco police have ruled out foul play into the death.

Vasco police have registered a case of unnatural death under Section 174 CrPC and PSI Mayur Sawant is carrying out further investigation under the supervision of PI Kapil Nayak and guidance of Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh.
