Officers must take suo motu action against illegalities, says Parab

MAPUSA

RGP President Manoj Parab said officials should take suo motu action instead of waiting for citizens to complain against various illegal activities taking place in the State.

“Why should officials wait for locals to file a complaint? When residents complain then they face the risk of being harassed by those who indulge in illegal activities,” Parab said.

He further said many officials in the revenue department either do not know the laws or were pretending to be ignorant of laws.

“We discussed this with the Deputy Collector-II Yashaswini B (IAS). We also told her that the land revenue laws are not being followed. We also suggested that the staff should be trained about the land revenue laws,” he said.
