Old Goa police rounds up 14 in Divar for suspicious movement

Old Goa Police rounded up 14 persons in Divar Island on Saturday night for suspicious movement and for drinking in open public places.
Complaints were received from local bodies and residents from Divar regarding suspicious movements of strangers on the island as well as people from across the river visiting the island to drink in open public places.
There were complaints that these persons throw garbage and break liquor bottles, causing inconvenience to locals and creating public nuisance. Some locals from Divar were also reported involved in such activities.
Old Goa police identified 12 such hotspots with the help of locals in Divar and visited these sites during night hours.
Police rounded up some persons moving suspiciously near the church area, near the sluice gates and jetties for drinking in open public places.
