The Fatorda Police have registered a case of cheating against a resident of Vasco, Shibaji Das for allegedly inducing youths to part away with cash of Rs 18.20 lakh on the pretext of providing jobs in the United Kingdom.
The case was registered upon a complaint from Grrayfans Fernandes and others stating that from 2020-21, the accused person Shibaji Das, resident of Vasco, had induced them and others to part away with a cash amount of Rs 18.20 lakh on the pretext of providing jobs in the UK.
The complainants further stated that the accused failed to provide any job and also failed to return the money to the complainant and others thereby cheating them.
Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Sanil S Dessai.
